The Verse is an experimental mashup of immersive musical theater and interactive technology.
It’s a Space-Rock Opera with audience participation that includes music, dance, ritual, projections, objets d’art, a custom app, and audience participation. Paying homage to the 70’s NYC art/music scene, it’s a dark, campy allegory of techno-socio alienation with a Lovecraftian rock n’ roll vibe.
Addressing the current socio political landscape, conflict between the divine and mortal self, our love-hate dynamic with technology, and our collective and shared identities – through technology and art- is core to this experience. The layering of media and realities that audience members can opt in and out of adds a meta, fourth wall blending element. The ephemeral, organic nature of theater is vital, and allows for interesting discoveries, emergent behaviors, and unique performances.
